Once an email has left our servers, it's not possible to stop or recall it. Similarly, content or subject lines can't be altered after an email has been sent.
If you've sent an email with an unfixable error that's business-critical or time-sensitive, consider sending a follow-up email to correct the mistake and acknowledge the original error.
For A/B tests in progress, while you can't edit the campaign, you can cancel it before it reaches your entire list.
Below is a pre-send checklist that can be used to help prevent any mistakes from creeping into your campaigns.
- Is the "From" name correct and appropriate?
- Is the "Reply-To" address correct?
- Is the email targeted to the right recipients?
- Have fallback options been set for any personalisation tags, including "From" names and email addresses?
- Have you added alt text to all images in case they’re blocked by email clients?
- Have you double-checked that all your links direct to the correct place?
- Have you checked spelling and grammar in:
- The subject line
- The "From" name
- The preheader text
- The email body
- Any buttons used
- Have you included your company name and address?
- Does the email display correctly in both desktop and mobile email clients (Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, etc.)?
- Has a second person reviewed the email for errors?
